The #Aga Khan Palace or the Gandhi National Museum in Pune is a monument of great historical significance. The palace occupies an important place in the history of India’s freedom struggle; it acted as a prison for national leaders including #Mahatma Gandhi during the Quit India Movement in 1942. Built by Sultan Mohammed Shah Aga Khan III in 1892, the museum serves as a memorial wherein the remains of Kasturba Gandhi, Mahatma Gandhi’s wife, are kept. A Beautiful combination of Islamic and Italian architecture, the palace has five halls and spacious verandahs, and also comprises a Gallery which has some of the belongings of #Gandhiji.
